Welcome to the Psi Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha at the University of Washington!
It is my greatest pleasure to welcome you to the Psi Chapter of Zeta Tau Alpha at the University of Washington! Whether you are a prospective member, collegiate or alumni sister, or simply a curious guest, we welcome you to glimpse what our chapter has to offer!
Zeta Tau Alpha’s Psi chapter was established at the University of Washington in 1917, and for over a century it has been filled with women whom I am proud to call my sisters. Guiding our vibrant sisterhood are ZTA's nine key values. These values help shape our chapter's identity and guide us in all aspects of our lives. These values include: being rather than seeming, lifelong learning, leadership, responsibility, humility, seeking understanding to gain true wisdom, loyalty and commitment, service and philanthropy, and, most importantly, love. Our values are not just words on a page but principles that define our national sisterhood and guide us to foster lifelong friendships, academic excellence, and help us reach our fullest potential.
Leading this chapter is an experience for which I am deeply honoredl, and I hope to follow in the footsteps of all the hardworking and inspirational presidents who have shaped Psi's history. Their lasting legacy continues to influence our successes, and I have the utmost faith that our chapter will continue to flourish. Not only do we have a truly dedicated Executive Council and passionate Programs Council, but a culture built on love and support that will help us continue to grow with one another.
Alongside our key values, Psi values independence and enjoys our members' freedom in choosing our living arrangements. Whether it's within University-provided housing, which many of our members find helps them connect with the greater University of Washington community, off-campus, or at home, we embrace the diverse choices and experiences of each member's undergraduate journey. Without living requirements, our chapter is built upon finding a sense of belonging within our sisterhood, creating a true sense of home in Zeta Tau Alpha beyond four walls.
As the current President of the Psi Chapter, I am proud to witness the amazing women I get to call my sisters and see them continue our strong legacy each and every day. Our chapter is a place where individuality is celebrated, and each sister's unique background strengthens our bonds. I will always be proud to call myself a Zeta Tau Alpha, and I invite you to discover the exceptional sisterhood that awaits you.
Zeta love and mine,
Cadence Lay
President, Psi Chapter
